22-10-08 Update:
- Next and previous buttons added to images with the ability to switch them on and off via the xml and also to adjust alpha and y positioning.
First I’d like to say sorry for removing the 2 older versions of the class but to make up for it the full screen flash gallery class has been upgraded to v3.
Some of the new features in this version include:
- Auto generated album menu, that can be configured in the XML file. It also has a built in function that removes the menu when there is only 1 album
- Moved a majority of the settings to the XML file for easier updates
- Addressed ratio sizing on the full screen image
- Included a flash version 8 fla file (sorry for not including that before)
- And some code improvements to make it run smoother.
Demos:
Download the gallery class.
Thanks to everyone who provided feedback and comments on the previous versions as it helped to identify the features that were missing and the issues that needed fixing. Keep the comments coming on this new version as well and let me know if you find any bugs or features that you want added.

Interesting little bit of information over at ByteArray.org about evils of over using cacheAsBitmap when applying them to multiple clips on stage and the solution using bitmapdata.
P.S. - Im updating the flash gallery at the moment, and hopefully should have the update live sometime this week. Its going to include album navigation, more control through the xml and cleaner code so keep a look out.

Don’t you hate it when you’re working on a flash project and hit a brickwall with a certain issue you just can’t seem to fix?
I know I’ve been in the situation many of times, especially when I was working as the sole flash designer/coder at my previous company, and most of the times I could find the answer by either trolling through the many flash forums I visit or creating a new thread when the answer is not available in an existing thread.
So here are the top flash forums around in no particular order and some statistics to give you an idea of the amount of content that’s available. The stat’s were taken around a day or so ago so the figures might have changed since then.
